Everton fans took to Twitter to destroy Yannick Bolasie for his performance in their team's 1-0 Premier League win against Newcastle United on Monday night.

The DR Congo international was named in the starting XI for the sixth consecutive match as Sam Allardyce's side secured their first win in four through a second-half Theo Walcott goal.

It was Walcott's first goal since January as the Goodison Park hosts moved up to eighth in the Premier League.

But Everton fans were neither happy with the style of the performance, or the display from some of their big-money players on show.

One of those who was heavily criticised on social media during and after the match was ex-Crystal Palace winger Bolasie, who has been a regular in recent months since recovering from the knee injury that sidelined him for a year.

Supporters universally laid into the 28-year-old, with comments including he "has a rabbit's brain" and should be sold in a raffle during the summer window.
