Sources: Kenwright champions Moyes to be new Everton manager amid West Ham latest
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright is championing David Moyes as a successor to Carlo Ancelotti, Football Insider understands.
The 75-year-old longstanding chairman wanted Moyes to replace Marco Silva when he was sacked in December 2019.
An Everton source told Football Insider that Kenwright retains great admiration for the West Ham manager.
It is understood he maintains a good relationship with the 58-year-old despite being furious and upset when he quit for Man United in 2013.
Everton accept that any pursuit of Moyes is a long shot given he is in advanced talks over a new West Ham contract.
Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is believed to be a big admirer of Nuno and has already spoken to his agent Jorge Mendes.
Further down the pecking order are FC Porto manager Sergio Conceicao and Rafael Benitez.
Everton are in need of a new boss following Ancelotti's jolting departure to Real Madrid, as first reported by this site in mid-May.
In Moyes, the Toffees would be returning to a tried-and-tested formula that worked like a well-oiled machine between 2002 and 2013.
