Paul Robinson has told Everton to think twice before making a late-window bid to sign Miguel Almiron.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said Toffees manager Frank Lampard already has similar players in his squad.

The Blues are in the market for offensive reinforcements prior to the window closing.

According to The Guardian's Ed Aarons (23 August), Everton are showing an interest in signing Almiron.

It is said that the Paraguay international will only be allowed to leave St. James' Park permanently.

The Toffees could have money to spend if Chelsea make another big-money bid for Anthony Gordon.

When asked by Football Insider if Almiron would be a welcome addition at Goodison Park, Robinson said: "Almiron works hard.

"He is not a player I would want in a relegation battle though.

"He is a quality player and he is getting better. I'm seeing much better end product for him.

"But when I look at Everton, and where they are at the moment, I'm not sure it would be a good fit. I don't think he fits the style Frank Lampard wants.

"As a flair player out wide, I really like him. But I'm not sure he is the player Everton need. He would not be at the top of the list for me.

"They have got players of a similar ilk, Demarai Gray for example. I don't think it's an urgency. Money could be spent better elsewhere."
