Bournemouth are in advanced talks to sign Huddersfield Town midfielder Philip Billing, Football Insider understands.

The 23-year-old is keen to leave the Terriers following their relegation last season and Bournemouth are ready to offer him a chance to stay in the Premier League.

A Cherries source has told Football Insider that Eddie Howe is a big admirer of Billing and has sanctioned a move for him as he looks to get a deal done before the window shuts.

There is a growing likelihood the Danish midfielder will now head to the south coast as he looks to end his six-year association with Huddersfield.

The Championship outfit are already planning for Billing's exit and he has not been handed a squad number for the upcoming season.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is keen to bolster his midfield options ahead of the start of the new season and believes the former Denmark Under-21 international would be a good fit.

Billing made 43 Premier League appearances for Huddersfield during the last two seasons and has played 91 first-team matches in total for the club.

He has entered the final year of his contract with the second-tier outfit.
