Alan Hutton insists that Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson would be a good squad signing for Tottenham this summer.

The former Spurs and Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, believes the 28-year-old could be signed for a cut-price fee after the Cherries' relegation to the Championship.

Hutton admits that Spurs definitely need some attacking reinforcements to help support Harry Kane and insists that Wilson would be a welcome addition to the club.

Hutton told Football Insider: "I do think they need someone. Before all this pandemic stuff and Harry Kane was missing it was a really difficult time for them, obviously they had Son missing as well.

"I think Callum Wilson who can play number nine or from out wide, I think he gives them a couple different options. They could possibly get him on the cheap now they've been relegated.

"I think he does fit the bill, he's a good age, a good goalscorer, so I think he'd be good to have in the squad. I can't see him starting at Tottenham but I think he'd be a good squad member and that's probably why Mourinho's looking at him."

Wilson has scored 41 goals in 128 Premier League appearances and hit the back of the net eight times last season.

He has also established himself as a member of the England squad and has four international caps under his belt to date.
