Danny Ings has told Liverpool he will rebuff a late move from Tottenham to move to Anfield this summer,

The Merseysiders have long been favourites to clinch the signing of the striker even though they have not agreed a fee with his club Burnley. Spurs have made a late bid to hijack Ings' switch to Anfield but the player has reassured Liverpool he still intends to transfer to Anfield.

Although Ings is out of contract at the end of next month, the Anfield club must pay compensation for training costs in accordance with Fifa regulations for players aged under 23. The fee for Ings is set to be decided by an independent tribunal, with Liverpool likely to pay a £4million figure for the 22-year-old.
