Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has blocked Rafael Camacho's proposed loan move to Sporting Lisbon, Football Insider understands.

Sporting have made several offers to take the winger on loan for the second half of the season and were hopeful of bringing Camacho back to his native homeland.

However, after talks between Camacho's representatives and Klopp in the last 24 hours, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Liverpool boss has informed them he does not want to let Camacho go out on loan as he wants him around the first-team for the second half of the season.

Camacho made his competitive debut for Liverpool in Monday's FA Cup defeat to Wolves playing in an unfamiliar right-back position and Klopp is keen to keep him at Anfield having allowed Nathaniel Clyne go out loan to Bournemouth earlier this month.

Sporting were hoping the offer of regular first-team football and playing Camacho in his preferred position of left wing would have persuaded Liverpool to let him move on loan.

But Klopp does not want to leave his squad options short as they battle on two fronts in the Premier League and Champions League, and the source claims he has "big plans this season" for the rising star.
