Leeds United and Brentford are in the hunt to sign Kosovo international Benjamin Kololli, Football Insider understands.

The 27-year-old has shone for Swiss side FC Zurich this season with an impressive 14 goals and eight assists from his left-sided midfield position.

His performances have brought him to the attention of clubs playing in bigger leagues across Europe, and sources close to the player have told Football Insider his suitors include Championship duo Leeds and and Brentford.

Leeds are in the market for a new left-sided midfielder this summer with Jack Harrison returning to Manchester City following his loan spell at Elland Road.

Brentford are also in the hunt for midfield reinforcements and have a good record of unearthing relatively unknown players from abroad and turning them into stars.

Both second-tier clubs are keen to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season as they look to challenge for promotion and Kololli could prove to be an astute signing for either of the duo.

Kololli caught the eye in FC Zurich's Europa League run this season, including scoring against Italian giants Napoli in the knockout stages.
