Norwich City and Ipswich Town are among a number of clubs plotting a move to sign Bangor sensation Harry Lynch, sources have told Football Insider.

The 19-year-old has captained the Northern Irish outfit already this season despite his young age and has attracted interest from a number of Championship sides.

Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End are among the clubs who have sent scouts to keep tabs on the defender's performances so far this season.

Able to play at centre-back and right-back, scouts are believed to have been impressed by what they have seen, and a race for his signature could bet set to begin.

The Northern Ireland Under-19 international's contract at Bangor is set to run until 2027, but they could be tempted to sell early amid growing interest.

Ipswich and Norwich race rivals for Harry Lynch

The level of interest in Lynch comes as a result of what has been an impressive season for the defender, despite Bangor's struggles to impress in the league.

He has made 32 appearances so far, switching between a centre-back and right-back role, and has impressed watching scouts in the process.

A move to English football would be seen as an opportunity for him to develop, while he is represented by the same agency as the Mason Melia, who recently joined Spurs.

There have been a number of exports from the Sports Direct Premiership to English football in recent years, and Championship clubs are now keen to get in on the action.

Sunderland's Trai Hume is chief among those in terms of notoriety, and Lynch will be aiming to follow in his footsteps as a defender moving to England.

Ipswich brace for Premier League offers for Sindre Walle Egeli

While Ipswich are looking to the future with the potential signing of Lynch, who would likely step into their academy side at first, they are fearful of losing their current stars.

Sindre Walle Egeli has enjoyed an impressive season since making a big-money move from Nordsjaelland in August, and is attracting high-profile interest.

Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on Egeli, with the 19-year-old impressing in the Championship as the Tractor Boys mount another promotion bid.

European giants, such as Ajax and Benfica, have already been linked with the right-winger’s signature, and it might not be long until the Tractor Boys can cash in for a significant profit.
