Exclusive: Paul Robinson has spotted unexpected Spurs gateway to sealing CL spot
Paul Robinson has claimed Tottenham have "a real opportunity" to overtake Chelsea when the season resumes after Harry Kane said how many wins he thinks his side will need to clinch a top-four spot.
The former White Hart Lane favourite, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, suggested the lack of true home advantage will make for some "strange results" in the final nine games of the campaign.
Kane, 27, told the club's official website last week that Spurs may need as many as eight wins from their final nine fixtures to qualify for next season's Champions League.
Jose Mourinho's side are currently seven points off fourth-placed Chelsea with Manchester United, Wolves and Sheffield United also between them in the standings.
Robinson suggested the unprecedented environment in which the remaining games will be held can work in the Lilywhites' favour.
"They are relying on other teams dropping points but we are in unprecedented times where the home advantage has disappeared," he told Football Insider.
"I think we will see some strange results and some results that we were not expecting.
"I am very glad that the league will be played out but I am glad I am not a gambler between now and the end of the season because results will be very hard to predict!
"Tottenham are seven points off Chelsea but there is a real opportunity to close that gap."
The results in the Bundesliga, which restarted in mid-May, suggest home advantage is non-existent without fans.
Mourinho will be boosted by the returns of Kane, Son Heung-min, Moussa Sissoko and Steven Bergwijn when they return - all of whom were injured going into the break.
