QPR are among a number of EFL clubs plotting a move for ex-Bayern Munich midfielder Sarpreet Singh on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.

Singh, 25, is available on a free transfer after leaving German side Hansa Rostock earlier this summer and is attracting interest.

The west London club will face stiff competition from teams throughout the English football pyramid but are keen on adding the ex-Bayern Munich winger.

Oxford United are also interested in Singh with Des Buckingham having previously worked with him for New Zealand. Singh has options in Germany and the MLS too.

After agreeing a deal to sign Slovenian striker Zan Celar, QPR are intent on bolstering their faltering forward line ahead of next season.

QPR want Singh to add to lacking attacking

After making just a single appearance for Hansa Rostock last season, the German club decided against renewing the New Zealand international's contract.

Singh was signed by Bayern Munich following his impressive performances with the New Zealand Under-20 side at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

The winger impressed during his time in Bayern Munich's youth set-up, scoring seven goals in 22 appearances for their second team but was unable to make the step up and secure a spot in the first team.

Following a turgid time in front of goal for QPR's forwards last season, Singh is capable of adding the creative flair they need.
