QPR are eyeing a move for Aberdeen youngster Timothy Akindileni, sources have told Football Insider.

The highly-rated Under-18s defender has been on the bench for the Aberdeen first-team.

Akindileni, 17, is yet to sign a professional contract at Pittodrie and the news has alerted QPR as he could be available for minimal cross-border training compensation.

He only joined Aberdeen in September 2023 after a successful trial period and the compensation due will not be expensive due to his short time with the Dons.

The centre-back has played in the UEFA Youth League with the Dons' youth side this term and has also turned out in the Challenge Cup.

Akindileni stands at 6 foot 4 inches and is a left-footed defender who is a boyhood fan of Aberdeen.

QPR sit 13th in the Championship under Marti Cifuentes after narrowly escaping relegation to League One last season.

Ilias Chair, Rayan Kolli and Alfie Lloyd are among the current QPR stars to graduate from the club's academy.
