'Outstanding' - Exclusive: Robinson in awe of West Brom talent making 'Massive' impact

Paul Robinson has been left raving over the impact of West Brom winger Matheus Pereira after his return from suspension at the weekend.

The former Tottenham and England goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, believes that the Portuguese maestro is the Baggies' most important player and that his absence was notable for the three games he missed.

The 23-year-old was suspended for an act of violent conduct against Stoke City, meaning he sat out the loss to Cardiff City and wins over Luton and West Ham.

Having seen the Sporting CP loanee step back into the starting XI against Millwall, Robinson was quick to herald his impact after adding another assist to his tally.

Asked how big his return to the side was, Robinson told Football Insider: "Massive difference, a three-game suspension that coincided with Diangana's injury, which didn't help West Brom.

"With Pereira coming back in, he's been their best player by far this year, I think he's an outstanding talent. They do so well with him, the way that they play. He's got 15 assists this year which is outstanding.

"Playing just behind the striker, he's got five goals as well, five goals and 15 assists which is pretty remarkable really." 

Pereira has a total of 27 Championship appearances under his belt since joining on loan last summer, with his assist against Millwall his 15th of the campaign.

He has been joined by the likes of Grady Diangana and Filip Krovinovic in supporting the strikers at the Hawthorns this season.
