Paul Robinson has tipped Tottenham forward Troy Parrott to "flourish" under the guidance of Millwall manager Gary Rowett.

The former England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, backed the 18-year-old to score goals in the Championship after it was announced he would spend the 2020/21 season at The Den.

Spurs confirmed the deal on Saturday 48 hours after Football Insider had exclusively revealed that an agreement had been reached.

The teenage striker will join up with the Lions later this month to begin pre-season, with the Championship set to kick-off on 12 September.

Robinson was adamant that the Republic of Ireland international would be a regular starter for Millwall next season.

"We did not see much of him last year but at a club like Millwall he is going to play week in, week out," he told Football Insider.

"His chances were very limited last season even when they lost Harry Kane and Son for a prolonged period. It is a real opportunity for him to go out, learn his trade as such and play in the Championship.

"I am confident that he will do well there, I think he'll score goals. He will be a regular starter at Millwall.

"I was impressed with Gary Rowett when he was at Derby. I like the way he comes across and he looks like he has good man-management skills and under a manager like that Troy will flourish."

Parrott has enjoyed great success in the Spurs youth set up and scored 11 goals in just seven appearances last season.

However, he has made just four appearances for the first team, three of which where from the bench with his one start coming against Colchester in the EFL Cup.
