Exclusive: Watford make approach to sign left-sided Birmingham City star
Watford have made contact with Birmingham City over a deal for defender Kristian Pedersen, Football Insider understands.
The Hornets are in the market for a new left-back before Friday's transfer deadline and the Blues' Danish left-back has emerged as a target late in the window.
A source at Vicarage Road has told Football Insider that the Premier League side have made enquiries about Pedersen but that the Championship club are holding out for a bigger fee than they are willing to pay.
The former Denmark under-21 international has been an ever-present for Pep Clotet in the Championship this season and he has established himself as one of the best full-backs outside the Premier League.
Pedersen fits the bill for Watford as the 6ft 2in defender is also capable of playing as a centre-back or in a wide midfield role and he would add further depth to Nigel Pearson's side.
Pedersen has a total of 70 appearances under his belt for the Blues, all but two of which have come in the Championship.
