Expert shares 'incredibly exciting' Celtic claim after 'wonderful' development
Celtic have an "incredibly exciting" attack that can only get better ahead of next season.
That's according to former Hoops hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the players' end to the season.
During Celtic's final game of the season, a 6-0 win over Motherwell (14 May), Kyogo Furuhashi and Georgios Giakoumakis, both 27, each scored a brace.
The duo have rarely featured in the same game due to Giakoumakis' poor start to life at Parkhead and Furuhashi's injury issues in the second half of the campaign.
The Greece international was afforded more game time due to Furuhashi's injury issues and this allowed him to find his best form.
With both strikers finishing the season amongst the goals, McAvennie is excited about the future of the Hoops' attack.
"I know they weren't on the pitch at the same time but to see them both scoring in the same game was wonderful," McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
"It's incredibly exciting because we brought off the main man Kyogo and Giakoumakis came on and got two as well.
"When they are both fit they are two quality options for us.
"That's what i have wanted for so long. It's just a shame we haven't been able to see they play together this season because of the injuries.
"They can be a real asset to us if they both stay fit next season because they have both proved they can perform in the league."
Furuhashi scored 20 goals in 33 games during his debut season at Parkhead.
Giakoumakis scored 17 in 29.
