Former Leeds midfielder Fabian Delph has revealed that his bond with his former club remains strong - by claiming the city is his ideal holiday destination.

Bradford-born Delph joined the Elland Road club at the age of 11 and emerged as one of the outstanding young midfielders in England while representing the senior team in his teens.

Delph, now 26, joined Aston Villa for £6million as a 19-year-old before switching to Manchester City last summer.

In a question-and-answer session with supporters during City's pre-season tour of China on Monday, ESPN's correspondent Jonathan Smith told on his personal Twitter account how Delph's ties with Leeds remain strong.

Delph made 58 appearances in total during his time at Elland Road but such was his precocity that he was named the Football League Young Player of the Year in 2008-09, the same award won by another Leeds academy graduate Lewis Cook last season.

In other Leeds news, veteran striker Grant Holt has revealed that he would have signed for the club "in a heartbeat".
