Radamel Falcao has been told by Chelsea he has no future at the club as he was omitted from their Champions League squad on Tuesday.

The Colombian striker has been left out of the 22-man squad list given to Uefa for the knockout stage of Europe's elite competition in a clear signal he is no longer in Guus Hiddink's plans.

New signings Alexandre Pato and Matt Miazga are both included in the Chelsea squad after signing for the Premier League champions during the January transfer window.

Falcao is hoping to secure a loan move in February to China, where the transfer window remains open until 26 February.

He was given permission by Chelsea to fly to Madrid on deadline day of the European window on Monday but was unable to secure a temporary switch to a new club.

On-loan Monaco striker Falcao, who had a disastrous loan at Manchester United last season, has scored just one goal in his season-long loan at Stamford Bridge.

He has been absent since October with a thigh injury but is working his way back to fitness and is expect to be fit to play within weeks.
