Forget Brennan Johnson, Thomas Frank must offload 'horrible' player who infuriates Tottenham fans

Thomas Frank has more concerning areas of the squad to address after the news of Brennan Johnson departing Tottenham on a permanent deal.

Johnson is edging towards joining Crystal Palace on a £35million deal, with the decision left to the 24-year-old, who has slipped down the pecking order since Frank's arrival.

Mohammed Kudus has been an instant hit on the right flank, taking the Welshman's place, so it almost seemed inevitable that the Lilywhites would strike a deal for his exit next month.

With Spurs currently sitting 11th in the Premier League table, it is pretty clear that Johnson is not the only issue heading into the January transfer window, with plenty of work to do on the pitch.

The club's current top scorer is Richarlison with seven goals in the league, with Micky van de Ven up next with three, and that is nowhere near good enough for a team like Tottenham.

Tottenham are interested in Man City's Omar Marmoush, who has struggled for game time due to Erling Haaland's heroics, and he is certainly someone who would fit in well in North London.

The 28-year-old has somehow started 14 of Spurs' Premier League games to date, but how many of those left fans satisfied is an entirely different question.

It is unlikely that Frank would turn down the chance to sign a new midfielder, but if that is to happen, Spurs need to offload Bentancur to whoever will take his signature.
