Michael Ball aims dig at Celtic senior player after loss against Zenit
Former Rangers defender Michael Ball has aimed a dig Celtic captain Scott Brown after the Hoops star was spotted walking around St. Petersburg in short sleeves despite it being -11°C. The Englishman poked fun at Hoops senior player Brown after the Scottish champions were knocked out of the Europa League 3-1 on aggregate by Zenit St. Petersburg in the round of 32. The Russians won 3-0 on the night after goals from Branislav Ivanovic, Daler Kuzyaev and Aleksandr Kokorin overturned the Hoops 1-0 first leg triumph at Celtic Park last Thursday. Despite the freezing temperatures outside, the match was played in a balmy 20°C inside Zenit's $1billion Krestovsky Stadium in St. Petersburg. Ball spent four years at Ibrox after a £6.5million move from Everton in 2001 and made 77 appearances for the Gers after suffering a serious knee injury which kept him out of action for 18 months. The Liverpudlian moved to PSV in 2005 for £500,000 and spent two years in the Netherlands before a two-year stint back in England with Manchester City. During his time at Ibrox, Ball lifted a Scottish title and Scottish League Cup under Alex McLeish in 2004/05.
