Former Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, still playing at the age of 38 for MLS team New York City, has revealed that he thinks Jack Wilshere's surprise loan move to Bournemouth could be a great one.

The Arsenal midfielder's move to the south coast was one of the surprises of the summer, and he pondered offers from several clubs before deciding to join Eddie Howe's Bournemouth.

Talking to The Sun, Frank Lampard talked about the move and how he can understand the frustrations that come through being injured.

"I’ve been very fortunate with injuries in my career but I’ve had a few more at the back end. I know the frustrations.

"I don’t know why he [Wilshere] has been injured for a long time. But I’d love to see Jack play regularly at Bournemouth.

“Then I’m sure the future is bright for him.

“He’s a big player for England. We want talented midfielders like that to come through. Only by playing regularly can he do that.”

Arsene Wenger, who is a huge fan of Wilshere, will be hoping that his player can get regular first-team football at Bournemouth and – crucially – stay injury free, before returning to make another impact in north London.

Only time will tell, but it means that Arsenal fans will have a vested interest in Bournemouth games this season.
