Alan Hutton has hailed Callum McGregor's "incredible" achievement at Celtic.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers defender insisted there is "plenty more to come" from the Hoops skipper.

The 29-year-old made his 400th appearance for the Celts in the 2-0 victory over Dundee United on 29 January.

Former Celtic captain Scott Brown racked up 620 appearances for the Glasgow giants during his tenure.

As quoted by the Sun (29 January), the current captain said Brown's feat was a "huge testament" to his ability and said he hopes in he can do the same during the next "five or six years".

Throughout his 400 appearances, McGregor has scored 59 goals and provided 69 assists.

When asked if McGregor seems like the kind of player that will finish his career at Parkhead, Hutton told Football Insider: "I think he will.

"400 appearances is quite incredible for his club. The amount of trophies he has won is unbelievable, I think it is only Scott Brown that is ahead of him.

"I think he will want to beat that, he has definitely got time on his hands, he is constantly available, he rarely misses.

"I know he has had a couple of injuries but he very rarely misses games so he will want to stay and play for as long as possible.

"He is the captain, you can tell he is the leader. You can tell he has got plenty more to come."
