Tottenham striker Reo Griffiths has revealed on Twitter that he is "off to Germany" after being strongly linked with a move to RB Leipzig.

The forward, 17, set tongues wagging among Spurs fans on Tuesday morning after posting the message on his personal Twitter account accompanied by a Germany flag and

claim that Griffiths is being tracked by a number of top clubs across Europe, including RB Leipzig, whose head of recruitment, Paul Mitchell, formerly held that role at Tottenham.

Football Insider verdict:

Griffiths' three-word Twitter revelation has certainly led to furrowed brows among the Spurs faithful, given his contract situation and the reported interest of clubs across Europe, most notably in the Bundesliga. The teenager could be teasing, or may be off for a holiday or youth tournament, but his future is a subject that Tottenham top brass need to address. Griffiths has been in red hot form this season, scoring a remarkable 34 goals for Spurs' youth sides, including four in the Under-18s' recent 9-0 demolition of Arsenal. He has already been hailed as Harry Kane mk II, and it is vital that the club tie him down to his first professional contract in the coming weeks rather than risk losing him for a minimal compensation fee in the summer. Griffiths is a young player of enormous promise, and he is at a club notable for their youth development. It is a deal that must be done.
