Harry Wilson to 'U-turn' on Fulham transfer plan amid Everton 'talk' claim

Harry Wilson could agree a new Fulham contract after not leaving Craven Cottage in the January transfer window.

That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who states Fulham "would like to keep" Wilson at the club.

Fulham were braced for interest in Wilson in January, with the midfielder's contract expiring at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has enjoyed a fine season at Fulham so far, with eight goals and four assists in 23 Premier League appearances.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs - believes Wilson will remain at Fulham.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks Wilson would be "welcomed" at Everton despite previously playing for Liverpool.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Yeah, I know that Fulham would like to keep him. You can see Wilson and Oscar Bob being quite a combination.

"I was hoping he was going to come to Everton. There was talk at one stage as well. He made sense there. Even though he'd played for Liverpool, I still think he'd have been welcomed at Hill Dickinson Stadium. But where is he going to go?

"I think he may end up somehow staying at Fulham now. I think he was really agitated for a move on this new contract, and so they're going to have to decide what they're going to do with him. He is a talented player. He can do a job for somebody. Tammy Abraham coming into Villa seems to preclude that still, unless you're at getting rid of Ollie Watkins and bringing Wilson in as a replacement for Ollie Watkins in some way. 

"That's the only way I could see it at Villa. But I think something in the back of my heart says he's going to end up still staying at Fulham.” 

Wilson receives extra attacking support

Oscar Bobb has been backed to make an impact at Fulham, with the 22-year-old signing from Manchester City.

Bobb will link up with Wilson to add an extra dimension to Marco Silva's attack, with the Cottagers looking to break into the European places.

Fulham have relied on Wilson and striker Raul Jimenez for goals this season, with Rodrigo Muniz currently on the sidelines.
