Sources: Doncaster Rovers agree to sign Huddersfield Town defender Jackson
Huddersfield Town defender Ben Jackson has agreed a deal to join Yorkshire rivals Doncaster Rovers on loan, Football Insider understands.
Jackson, 20, is highly-rated at Huddersfield after coming through the ranks with the Terriers and he enjoyed a spell on loan at Bolton last season.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Doncaster have moved to agree a deal to take him on loan for the second half of the season.
Huddersfield feel the left-back will benefit by going out temporarily for the fourth successive season.
Jackson is willing to follow the club's wishes and head out on loan in order to get more first-team football under his belt.
The youngster has been on the fringes of the Terriers' senior side this term.
He has featured in just one matchday squad in the Championship.
Jackson made his first-team debut in an EFL Cup game against Rochdale in September 2020.
His first league appearance came a week later in last season's league opener against Norwich City.
The versatile defender has played a total of three times for Huddersfield's senior side.
He has spent much of his formative career out on loan.
His first temporary spell came at Darlington in 2019, before he joined Stockport County for the 2019/20 campaign.
Jackson played 24 times for the National League outfit, scoring once.
The Huddersfield starlet then joined Bolton Wanderers for the second half of last season.
However, he played just five times for the Trotters in League Two, with one goal under his belt.
Jackson is set to join a Doncaster side sitting bottom of League One.
