Liverpool made it three Premier League wins in a row on Saturday as they beat Wolves 2-1.

There were plenty of positives and a few negatives in the display, with it being highly disappointing that Arne Slot’s team conceded to a side sat at the bottom of the Premier League.

Nevertheless, three points are three points, as Liverpool look to get their season back on track after an awful period in the Autumn.

While the rise of Florian Wirtz has been exciting to watch in recent weeks at Anfield as the German international finally finds his feet, it was what Hugo Ekitike did that stunned Clinton Morrison.

Clinton Morrison: Hugo Ekitike is outrageous

At the end of the first half, Liverpool fans were rewarded with a Christmas treat.

After struggling to break down Wolves’ stubborn backline, they found the net twice in two minutes.

Ryan Gravenberch scored the first before Wirtz netted a wonderful second to put the Reds in a comfortable position at half-time.

However, it was the build-up to Liverpool’s second that caught Morrison’s eye.

Ekitike took hold of the ball on the halfway line, beat Andre and then played a wonderful ball to Wirtz that split the Wolves’ defence and allowed Wirtz the perfect opportunity to score, which he took with open arms.

Watching on Sky Sports News on 27 December, Morrison said: "Ekitike is outrageous! It is game over!"

How good was Ekitike vs Wolves?

The striker was perhaps unlucky not to have scored, with the Frenchamn also hitting the woodwork.

According to Fotmob on 27 December, the striker was fantastic, boasting multiple impressive stats.

Overall, he managed four shots, created one chance and had five touches in the opposition box.

Once again, it became clear that if Liverpool are to finish in the top four this season, Ekitike will be key to achieving this under Slot.

Hopefully, the striker can keep uo these performances going into the new year.
