Hull City have made an approach to sign Celtic centre-forward Ciaran Diver, Football Insider can reveal.

The English Championship have registered their interest in Diver, 19, as they look to recruit a youthful striker in this summer's window.

A Celtic source has told Football Insider there has been interest from other clubs south of the border in the Scottish teenager, who is set to leave Parkhead this summer.

Diver is a product of the Celtic academy but has yet to play for the first team and is down the pecking order behind not only the senior stars but also the likes of fellow youngster Mikey Johnston.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Edinburgh City and has previously had a temporary spell at Stranraer.

Diver made 17 appearances for the first team across the two loan spells, with his solitary goal coming in League Two for Edinburgh.

Grant McCann was appointed the new manager of Hull last week in succession to Nigel Adkins, who departed the club earlier this month, and the new boss is overseeing a major overhaul of the squad.
