Hutton shocked by new Dele Alli price tag at Tottenham
Tottenham are willing to sell Dele Alli for half of what he should be worth, according to Alan Hutton.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs star insisted clubs should expect to pay £50million for a player of Alli's age and quality.
As revealed by Football Insider last week, Spurs have slashed the 24-year-old's asking price from £45million to just £25million ahead of the summer.
It is understood Spurs chairman Daniel Levy blocked a temporary move in January due to financial reasons.
Alli has struggled for game time this season and has just two league starts under his belt so far.
However, he still has three years left on his contract in north London.
Hutton insisted Alli could still be a quality talent in the right team and under the right manager.
As such, he admitted he was shocked by Spurs' new asking price.
Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge: "I'm actually quite surprised that you've said £25million. I thought you were going to say £50million.
"That's what I was thinking, even in January. I was thinking he's so young, we know how talented he is, he's having a blip.
"It's probably about him suiting a team and a manager that can get the best out of him.
"Not necessarily this tough love but maybe an arm around him, helping him through the situation he's in.
"I just thought, you know what it's like; young, English, maybe £40million, £45million, round about there. For you to say £25million, oof."
