Pundit savages Man United and 'embarrassing' Solskjaer

Frank McAvennie

Celtic and West Ham legend Frank McAvennie joined the Football Insider stable in June 2020 and has not disappointed with his own brand of unique punditry. He loves talking football almost as much as he loved scoring goals, and still has close links in the dressing room at Parkhead.

Man United will not qualify for the Champions League if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains in the manager's chair.

That's according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to as the Red Devils failed to win again.

Man United lost 4-2 to Leicester on Saturday, meaning the club have only won one of their last five in all competitions.

Solskjaer is under increasing pressure from Man United fans as their side sit five points off the top of the table.

McAvennie claims Solskjaer's management is "embarrassing" and admitted he can't believe the club are losing games.

"Man United are not going to get to the Champions League," McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

"I'll tell you what, for all the players that are there they should not be getting beaten.

"How are they losing games? It's embarrassing. Ronaldo is only getting a few touches in the game.

"It's just embarrassing. I don't care who you are, it's down to Ole and his constantly chopping and changing.

"Players like Ronaldo will be wondering why they are on the bench. It makes no sense.

"I don't care what anyone says, I couldn't give a monkey's. Ronaldo wants to play. It's awful management.

"I don't think Solskjaer is the man, he won't win anything and there has to be concerns over getting in the top four now."

Man United face Atalanta on Wednesday night in the Champions League.

They then face a crunch clash against Liverpool at Old Trafford.
