Paul Robinson slammed Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson following his disappointing performance in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O'Leary, the former England No.1 revealed he thought Henderson had struggled in 2019 so far for both club and country.

Henderson played 71 minutes of Liverpool's clash with Manchester United with Jurgen Klopp opting to bring him off in favour of Adam Lallana.

Robinson shared that he believes Henderson was capable of playing well for Liverpool but admitted he was baffled over what his best position was in midfield.

"He seems to play well for Liverpool but I'm still unsure of his performances for England as I don't know where he fits in,  whether he prefers to be defensive or attacking?" Robinson told Football Insider.

"I think he likes not having the defensive responsibility but he has not played well this year, I think he has been indifferent for both club and country.

"And I don't think he played particularly well yesterday either."

Henderson has featured regularly for Klopp's side this season as the 29-year-old has featured in all-but-one of the Reds' Premier League matches so far.

The central midfielder has been at Anfield since joining from Sunderland in 2011 and he has scored 25 goals, while registering 45 assists, in the 336 appearances he has made for the club.
