Ipswich Town are plotting a move for Burnley winger Wilson Odobert, sources have told Football Insider.

The 19-year-old was one of Burnley’s shining lights last season despite their relegation from the Premier League.

Ipswich are in the market for attacking reinforcements having missed out on Jaden Philogene, who re-joined Aston Villa and they are now targeting a move for France Under-23 international Odobert.

It's been an incredibly active transfer window for the Premier League new boys so far this summer following the arrivals of Omari Hutchinson, Jacob Greaves, and Liam Delap.

Kieran McKenna and his staff are looking to build a squad capable of avoiding relegation and believe Odobert could be a vital part of that.

Ipswich want Wilson Odobert to help avoid relegation

Odobert made 33 appearances in his first season at Burnley following his move from French side Troyes, scoring three goals and providing three assists.

The 19-year-old is a versatile winger capable of playing on either right or left but prefers to be on the left-hand side so he can cut in and take on defenders.

Ipswich are after a new winger after they lost out on the signing of Philogene and Odobert offers Premier League experience while still being young.

Burnley would be inclined to keep Odobert but may be forced to reluctantly sell the winger if he pushes for a move back to the Premier League.
