Roy Keane has criticised both Liverpool and Tottenham despite positive results for both teams in this week's Champions League games. Tottenham drew 2-2 away at Juventus to give them the advantage in their tie against the Italian giants, and Liverpool dismantled Porto 5-0 away from home. However, the tough-talking former Man United midfielder dismissed these achievements and said that both team should be able to compete in the Champions League. He said that what really counts is winning trophies, and that both Tottenham and Liverpool have "embarrassing" records. Talking on ITV, as quoted by the

, Keane said, "For a club the size of Liverpool - or Tottenham - one trophy in 10 years is pretty embarrassing. "I know the Champions League has took over, particularly with the money involved, but to be successful at those clubs, it is about getting your hands on trophies.

"The game's changed, back in the day you had to win the league to get to the Champions League. "But these clubs with these squads should be able to compete in the Champions League, qualify for the knockout stages. "To then win an FA Cup or a League Cup, of course you should, that should go hand in hand." The last trophy Tottenham won was the League Cup in 2008 when they beat Chelsea 2-1.

Tottenham still have a chance to win this year's FA Cup, which is probably their best chance of silverware this campaign. They play Rochdale away on Sunday and should progress past their League One rivals who are rock bottom of the third tier of British football. Liverpool are already out though and will be looking to the Champions League if they want to lift a trophy this season. In other Tottenham news,
