Ivan Toney is "more than likely" to stay at Al-Ahli despite intense interest from Tottenham.

It has been widely understood that Tottenham are looking for a new striker in January, following their inconsistent form in front of goal.

Sources told Football Insider that Spurs are willing to sell one of Dominic Solanke or Richarlison to fund a move for Toney.

The striker has come under intense attention from other Premier League sides as well, with Everton also interested in Toney.

Toney intent on staying in Saudi Arabia with Tottenham deal 'difficult'

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, with a lucrative contract running until the end of the 2027-28 season, it looks unlikely that the ex-Brentford man will leave Al-Ahli any time soon.

Sources told Football Insider that Toney's wages would prove to be a stumbling block for Tottenham in their quest to secure his signature.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: "Right now I think it's probably more than likely that Ivan Toney will remain in Saudi Arabia.

"Al-Ahli don't really want to lose him and it does seem that overall Toney is happy in Saudi Arabia as well.

"So, I think with over two years left on his contract, it's a difficult deal to do right now."

Everton and West Ham remain interested in Toney to solve striker issue

Even though the 28-year-old looks settled and content in Saudi Arabia, that won't stop Premier League sides going all in on him.

Sources told Football Insider that Everton and West Ham continue to sound out a move for Toney in January.

The pair have both struggled for goals from their forwards, highlighting their drastic need to acquire the former Bee with haste.

Moreover, with England securing their place at the 2026 World Cup and few options up front to challenge Harry Kane, Toney may be reconsidering his stance on a Premier League move in order to force his way back into the Three Lions fold and grab the attention of Thomas Tuchel.
