Jack Grealish has to stay in the Man City midfield moving forward after the win over Salford City, fans have begged Pep Guardiola.

The England international scored his first goal of the season, converting a penalty in the 8-0 FA Cup victory at the Etihad.

With Savinho and Jeremy Doku also starting, Guardiola provided Grealish with an opportunity to shine in midfield—a position he has rarely played in the past.

Fans were impressed with his display despite some suggesting his time under Guardiola might be over after Savinho’s performance against West Ham on 4 January.

Man City fans are still backing Jack Grealish but want him in midfield

City signed Grealish for a club-record £100 million from Aston Villa back in 2021 [Sky Sports]. But he has struggled to make a significant impact in recent seasons.

Reports have linked him with a move away, with Tottenham mentioned as a potential destination, although his high wages could be a stumbling block.

Football Insider revealed that the Cityzens are open to listening to offers for the England international, as the club's hierarchy has raised concerns about his performances.

Despite failing to score in 2024, Grealish has started 2025 on a high note with a penalty goal in the 8-0 win over Salford.

Fans were impressed by his performance in midfield, with many urging Guardiola to keep him there. One fan pleaded, "He looks so good in the middle, please keep him there Pep". Another called him Man City’s "only hope" when he plays in that role.
