Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has posted on social media for the first time since Steve Cooper was dismissed as manager.

Cooper, 44, was sacked after just 12 games at the helm, winning two, drawing four, and losing six Premier League games with the newly promoted side.

Ben Dawson took charge in the immediate aftermath, losing his one and only game in charge 4-1 to Brentford.

Former Man United forward, coach, and interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has since been appointed on a permanent basis, winning his first game against Julen Lopetegiu's struggling West Ham side 3-1 on Tuesday (December 3).

The 2015-16 champions now have some breathing space between them and the relegation zone, sitting in 15th with 13 points, four above Wolves in 18th.

Vardy, 37, opened the scoring against West Ham in the second minute, timing his run to perfection before cooly slotting past Lukas Fabianski in the visitor's goal.

The striker has been integral for his club so far this season, starting all 13 of their Premier League games, yielding 1050 minutes of league action, scoring five goals, and providing two assists in the process.

No Leicester player posted on social media bemoaning Cooper's dismissal, but Vardy took to Instagram to celebrate their recent win.

Van Nistelrooy's new side have a tricky run of fixtures throughout the festive period, next-up is a visit from Fabian Hurzeler's impressive Brighton side on Sunday (December 8).

The Dutchman's baptism of fire includes games against Newcastle, Liverpool, and Man City before the end of the month.
