'There is interest' – Leeds 27-year-old delivers worrying update on future at Elland Road
Pontus Jansson has confirmed that he wants to play in the Premier League but that he won't make any decision about his future until after the World Cup.
Talking to Swedish outlet SportBladet, Jansson said: "I want to see the club's ambitions.
"I want to play in the Premier League. But I do not want to take those questions before the World Cup.
"I have said that to Martin (Dahlin, the agent).

"There is interest. All I know is that I'm going to stay in England. It will be a lot for me to leave England. I really enjoy Leeds. But I want to see the ambitions that now is the time to take the lead up to the Premier League."
The same report cites Premier League interest in the centre-back from Southampton and Burnley.

Pontus Jansson won't be the only player angling for a big move from this summer's World Cup. It's a huge shop window for players who harbour ambitions of playing at a higher level and it's no different for Jansson. He's been a popular player with the fans but didn't have the best season in 2017/18 – not many Leeds players did, to be fair. He's always said that he wants to play in the Premier League and it was obvious that his loyalty was to Leeds if they got promoted. However, last season they didn't even come close and they'll need to improve a lot to move from 13th in the Championship up to the play-offs in 2018/19. Jansson is obviously hoping for some big performances in Russia. If they come then it's highly likely that Premier League interest will be shored up and that Jansson could make a move. He's contracted with Leeds until 2022 so they will be able to command a decent fee for him, but they would probably rather keep hold of him.
