Everton and incoming owner Dan Friedkin will be unwilling to sell star man Jarrad Branthwaite in January, sources have told Football Insider.

Sources say Friedkin, who has agreed to purchase Farhad Moshiri's 94% stake at Goodison Park, is keen to not send out the wrong signals to Evertonians or other Premier League clubs by selling the 22-year-old.

Everton rejected all offers from Man United during the off-season as the Red Devils did not meet their valuation.

Football Insider revealed last week (27 September) that United could line up another bid for Branthwaite in the January transfer window.

But the one-cap England international is likely to be crucial for Everton in a potential battle against relegation for Sean Dyche's side this term.

Everton and Friedkin won't sell Branthwaite in January

He returned to the Toffees' senior side on Saturday (28 September) in a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.

Branthwaite had missed the first seven games of the 2024-25 campaign with a groin injury.

The Carlisle academy product signed a new contract at Goodison Park almost 12 months ago which runs until June 2027.

He has made 55 senior appearances for Everton and was a virtual ever-present for Dyche last season as they survived relegation despite a eight-point deduction.

Dyche's side are next in action against Newcastle on Saturday (5 October).
