Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is keen to leave the club this summer in search of more regular first-team football, sources have told Football Insider.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a summer move to Everton as they search for a reliable striking option in the wake of Dominic Calvert-Lewin's latest injury.

However, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that Crystal Palace are yet to make a final decision on Mateta's future with a new manager yet to be appointed following Roy Hodgson's contract expiry.

The striker's contract with the Eagles runs until June 2026.

Mateta made 32 appearances across all competitions this season as Crystal Palace recorded an 11th-place finish - scoring four goals.

However, the former France Under-21 international has started in just eight of those outings - with Odsonne Edouard and Jordan Ayew the preferred options.

He signed for Palace on an initial loan from Bundesliga side Mainz in 2021, with the London side paying a reported total fee of £16million for his services.

Mateta, who earns a reported wage of £50,000-a-week at Selhurst Park, has managed just 10 goals and one assist in 67 total appearances for the Eagles.

Crystal Palace are working on signing a new striker ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Sweden international has just 12 months left to run on his contract at the Championship club – and it is believed that his priority is to secure a move to England’s top flight.
