Former Liverpool left-back John Arne Riise has made an exciting announcement about his next career move on social media.

The Norwegian has revealed his decision to become a football agent after he retired from the game last season.

The 37-year-old broke the news on his official Twitter account earlier today.

After a successful career spanning 20 years, Riise is set to pave the way for football’s brightest young talents and is hoping to help them reach their full potential.

He was a hugely popular figure during his seven-year spell at Anfield and the new agent vowed to send talent back to his beloved club.

Riise was renowned throughout his career for his explosive left-foot. He scored 31 goals in 348 appearances for the Reds.

He won seven trophies as a Liverpool player including the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.

He left the club in 2008 to join Roma and went on to play for Fulham, APOEL, Delhi Dynamos and Aalesund before his career came with Indian Super League side Chennaiyin FC last year.

Meanwhile, Risse’s former club will return to Premier League action against Southampton on Saturday. Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently fifth in the table, 12 points behind leaders Manchester City.
