John Lundstram is exploring his options over whether to move back to England once his Rangers contract expires in June this year, sources have told Football Insider

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke explained there is a real chance the midfielder could now quit Ibrox.

The 30-year-old will be able to join a new club on a free if his deal at Ibrox isn’t extended before the end of next month.

Rangers are still hopeful of reaching an agreement with the Englishman, but time is now ticking as they look to secure his services for at least another season.

John Lundstram could leave Rangers this summer

Lundstram has been a key figure since Philippe Clement arrived at Ibrox in October last year.

The midfielder has made 52 appearances for the club this season, scoring two goals and laying on eight assists.

O’Rourke believes Lundstram has achieved “great success” during his three-year spell in Glasgow, having claimed two trophies and reached the final of the Europa League.

Clement has revealed he is planning a “big” rebuild at Ibrox ahead of the transfer window reopening in a matter of weeks.

The Gers lost out on the Scottish Premiership title this season and the Belgian will now be expecting to be backed in his first summer window at the club.
