Sources: Major update on Jones joining Sunderland permanently from Rangers

Jordan Jones is keen to join Sunderland permanently this summer after impressing on loan from Rangers, Football Insider understands.

The Northern Ireland international winger, 26, has reignited his career since agreeing a late-January move to the League One big hitters.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Jones would like to secure a full-time Sunderland deal following a series of dazzling displays in red-and-white.

The Middlesbrough academy product has no future at Ibrox after being frozen out before his move back down south.

Rangers will not stand in Jones' way of an exit if their asking price of around £600,000 is met.

The wide man is unlikely to be short of suitors after making a big impact for promotion-challenging Sunderland.
