Joshua Zirkzee has been urged to quit Man United just months into his tenure at the club following the “disgusting treatment” he received during their 2-0 loss against Newcastle on Monday (30 December).

Goals from Alexander Isak and Joelinton in the first 20 minutes put the game beyond Ruben Amorim’s men, but Zirkzee was made a scapegoat when he was substituted in the 33rd minute.

An emotional Zirkzee immediately headed down the tunnel out of frustration, while the substitution failed to change the tide of the game.

The 23-year-old joined the Premier League giants during the summer on a £36.5million deal from Bologna.

Zirkzee has struggled to find his feet at Old Trafford since making the move from Serie A, scoring just four goals in 27 appearances across all competitions.

United fans were quick to admit they “feel sorry” for him and that he “doesn’t deserve this treatment.”

However, after the dust settled on the match and how Zirkzee was treated people told him that he “needs to leave” Old Trafford.
