Modou Barrow and Matt Grimes will head back to Swansea at the end of the season after making little impact at Leeds United, according to a report.

The Yorkshire Evening Post claim Leeds will make no attempt to extend the loan deals of the senior pair or tie them down to permanent contracts.

Grimes was one of the first batch of players with Swansea connections to join the club's former manager Garry Monk at Elland Road.

The central midfielder, 21, joined Kyle Bartley and former Swans winger Pablo Hernandez last summer in linking up again with Monk.

But former England Under-21 international Grimes has struggled to win over the United manager and has made just 12 appearances in all competitions, including just 152 minutes of league action.

Barrow, 24, became the third player owned by Swansea to move on loan this season to Leeds when he completed a deadline-day transfer in the January window.

The winger was expected to cause huge problems for Championship defences after being regularly picked by the Premier League outfit in the first half of the campaign.

But the move has turned sour for the Gambia international and he has started just one of his five matches for Leeds.

It is testament to the lack of faith that Monk has in Barrow that he has not even made the matchday squad for the last four matches.
