Leeds United fans are furious after the club confirmed homegrown sensation Archie Gray has been sold to Tottenham Hotspur after they triggered his release clause.

Football Insider exclusively revealed early on Sunday that Spurs had hijacked Brentford’s transfer for the 18-year-old after he underwent a medical at the west London outfit on Saturday.

Spurs have also agree to pay £40million including add-ons for Gray, while Joe Rodon has gone the other way for £10million.

Leeds fans witnessed Gray progress through the academy after he joined the first team setup at the age of 15, and became a regular under Daniel Farke.

The 18-year-old played a vital role in Leeds’ attempts to gain promotion to the Premier League last season after starting 47 of his 52 performances,

Leeds United fans aren’t pleased about his sale

Leeds United claimed they were heartbroken to see one of their own leave, but fans were less sympathetic towards the club they support.

Football Insider previously revealed Leeds had to recoup £150million in player sales to avoid a points deduction, which is a situation many fans aren't pleased about.
