Leeds have been linked with a move for Swansea defender Kyle Bartley, after the centre-back impressed in a loan deal in the 2016/17 season.

However, the deal may have hit a speed bump as Swansea lost 1-0 to Southampton last night to make relegation a real possibility.

Swansea are now deep in trouble, three points behind both Southampton and Huddersfield – the only two teams they can catch.

Huddersfield have two games left but a worse goal difference and Swansea will now be hoping they lose both games and that they beat Stoke on Sunday to complete a miraculous escape.

Phil Hay, a senior journalist on the Yorkshire Evening Post, reported that if Swansea do get relegated, it won't help Leeds' pursuit of the player.

He went on to say that Leeds were confident that Swansea would make the deal if they stayed up, but less so if they went down – as now looks likely.

Leeds fans haven't given up on the deal though, with plenty of them saying they can see Huddersfield losing to Chelsea and Arsenal, which would just mean Swansea beating already relegated Stoke.

And others said they can see Bartley leaving even if Swansea do go down.

Here are the best reactions from Leeds fans who were praying for a Swansea win last night:
