Leeds fans on Twitter urged Max Gradel to "come home" after he sent a message expressing his adoration for the Elland Road faithful.

Gradel took to his personal Twitter account on Tuesday to admit his "love" for Leeds shortly after a report that he is keen to quit Bournemouth this summer.

The winger, 29, has had a miserable time on the south coast since joining for £7million from French club St Etienne in the summer of 2015.

The BBC Sport website claims Gradel wants to leave Bournemouth and join a club where he can play regularly.

This prompted interest from Leeds supporters, who fondly remember his two-year spell at the club from 2009 to 2011, including his central role in their promotion from League One to the Championship.

Gradel responded by telling Leeds fans "Max love you too" in a message on Twitter.

In turn, Leeds supporters urged the Ivory Coast international to swap the south coast for a romantic return to Yorkshire.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Gradel made 82 appearances for Leeds during his time at the club, in which he scored 25 goals and laid on a further 13 assists.

He starred as the club won promotion from League One back in 2010 and Gradel could be a realistic target if the Yorkshire giants return to the top-flight, or even remain in the Championship in the next campaign.

Gradel has had just 105 minutes of Premier League action this season and has not started a single game in the competition for Bournemouth.
