Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to tear into captain Liam Cooper for his performance in the 4-1 loss against Wolves at Molineux on Wednesday night.

Cooper, 26, took up his usual spot in the backline ahead of kick-off as Thomas Christiansen surprisingly decided to name an unchanged team for the midweek game.

Although Cooper was solid in the 2-1 win against Middlesbrough on Sunday, his performance was the polar opposite against Wolves as Leeds crumbled in the West Midlands to miss out on moving up into the Championship play-off spots.

Barry Douglas and Ivan Cavaleiro fired Nuno Espirito Santo's side into the lead in the first-half, and many fans on Twitter were disgusted with what they had seen from Cooper by the time the break came around.

One angry supporter claimed that the Scottish centre-back was "amateurish" in his display.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Cooper has been a mainstay of the Leeds first-team this season, making 15 appearances across all competitions and starting 14 matches in the Championship.

He was handed the captain's armband by Christiansen and started the season really well, keeping a plethora of clean sheets alongside Pontus Jansson.

However that soon became unraveled in a poor spell of form which saw Cooper start to come in for criticism for his performances.
