Alex Mowatt returned to the Leeds starting XI in their 1-0 defeat to Derby on Saturday - and fans took to Twitter to criticise his performance.

The Elland Road academy product was restored to the team in place of the injured Stuart Dallas as Garry Monk make a single change to the side that beat Barnsley 2-1 before the international break.

Mowatt was selected in the starting XI for only the fourth time in Leeds' 12 league fixtures this season, and only his fifth start out of 15 matches in all competitions.

But the 21-year-old endured a difficult afternoon on the left flank as Leeds' fine run came to an end at the iPro Stadium.

He struggled to make an impact before being substituted after 80 minutes and replaced by Matt Grimes.

A Johnny Russell goal was enough to secure the three points for the home side as Monk's side dropped down to 12th in the Championship table.

Fans took to social media to give their verdicts on Mowatt's display in midfield against Derby.
