Leeds United are in line for a multi-million pound windfall as Danny Rose opened the door to quitting Tottenham this summer.

Rose insisted he wants "to go out with a bang" if the Champions League final against Liverpool on 1 June is his last match for Spurs.

Leeds would benefit if the England international does make a mega-money move due to the sell-on terms incorporated in the transfer that took him from Elland Road to White Hart Lane as a 17-year-old in the summer of 2007.

A United source has told Football Insider that a clause in the deal means Leeds are entitled to 10 per cent of any profit made on Rose's sale.

The defender joined Spurs from Leeds for £1million and if he were to now leave his club for £30million, Leeds would get 10 per cent of £29 million, which is £2.9million.

The left-back's future at the north London club has been uncertain over the last 18 months and he was free to leave the club last summer before going on to re-establish himself as Mauricio Pochettino's first-choice left-back.

Rose, who was omitted from the 2018 official Tottenham calendar to spark fears he is leaving, could be part of summer exodus whatever the outcome of the Champions League final against Liverpool in Madrid.

He did not deny that possibility when addressing the media in the wake of Spurs' remarkable Champions League semi-final comeback against Ajax on Wednesday night.

"I keep seeing my name that I'm being sold," Rose said, as quoted by the Guardian. "So if that's the case and it's going to be my last game for Tottenham against Liverpool, I'm hoping to go out with a bang and lift a trophy.

"It's a Champions League final, so individual situations have to take a back seat and you have to put the club first."
