Andrea Radrizzani has taken to Twitter to wish the best of luck to Pep Clotet as he takes up his first management job in English football.

The senior figure was announced as the new manager of League One outfit Oxford United on Saturday after leaving Elland Road as part of a shake-up of the backroom staff.

Ex-assistant manager Clotet, 40, joined Craig Beattie and Darryl Flahavan in leaving the Yorkshire club as part of the fall-out of Garry Monk's exit in May.

Thomas Christiansen has since been named as the new Leeds boss, prompting a shift in the hierarchy.

Radrizzani gained full ownership of the Whites just two days before Monk announced he will leave the club, and has shown on his personal Twitter account that he has no hard feelings towards Clotet following Saturday's announcement.

"Congratulations Pep Clotet. Thank you for a good job at Leeds and good luck at Oxford United," he said.

Clotet was last in charge of a senior squad in 2011 when he spent several months at the helm of Swedish club Halmstad.

He then had a year-long stint with the Malaga B team in Spain before moving to England to work in Michael Laudrup's backroom staff at Swansea.

Monk would later replace the Dane as manager at the Liberty Stadium, sparking the working relationship between himself and Clotet, who would then be together once more at Leeds.
